Slow down and regain a sense of control.

Your life is the definition of “go-go-go.”

There’s a reason you’ve gotten to where you are today in life: you’re committed, driven, and disciplined. But somewhere along the way, it’s become impossible to slow down—you feel like you always have to be doing something.

You wake up each morning (if you slept much at all) feeling nervous and on edge. At any given moment, you could list off 100 things you feel worried or anxious about. And even though you’re excelling at work, you feel like an imposter…like you don’t really deserve to be there.

If you take a moment to check in with yourself, you notice you are...

  • Experiencing new physical symptoms, like headaches or stomachaches, that didn’t used to be there

  • Feeling overwhelmed keeping it all together (or trying to) at home and with your family

  • Caught in the tension of feeling stuck in life and yet never being able to stop

  • Dissatisfied with how your life feels, even though you’ve accomplished a lot

You’re ready for a change.

This is permission to slow down and tune into yourself.

When you’re experiencing anxiety, it can be difficult to not only identify what needs to change, but also to understand what’s led you here in the first place. Often, anxiety is the result of multiple factors at play: your unconscious drives or motivations (which have often served you well in other parts of life), as well as the thoughts or beliefs that have been ingrained in you by past experiences and the go-go-go society we live in.

In therapy, you can begin to untangle these things so you can begin to see anxiety for what it is: a response that you can control.

Let’s start looking at things differently.

Therapy is an opportunity to begin looking at things differently in order to respond to them differently. In addition to exploring the deeper roots behind your anxiety, we’ll also look at ways to help you become more aware of your brain and body’s reactions to stress.

Using things like mindfulness, breathing & grounding exercises, and other strategies, you’ll also learn practical ways to decrease your reactions right there in the moment. You’ll learn to start giving attention to your strengths and challenge negativity. You’ll be back in the driver’s seat of your life.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Anxiety looks a little different for everyone. Some experience it in a heightened, on-edge state, while others feel overwhelmed and often “shut down” due to it. Here are some common signs of anxiety:

    • Intense worry or panic

    • Racing thoughts

    • Difficulty relaxing

    • Poor sleep

    • Difficulty making decisions

    • Physical symptoms such as pain, headaches, or digestive issues

  • Absolutely—we all feel a little worried or stress sometimes. This is part of the human experience. When those feelings begin to flow over into other areas of life, however, or when they reach a level that feels unmanageable or out of control, it’s often a sign that some support (such as therapy) might be useful in decreasing symptoms and improving your quality of life.

  • This is different for everyone. While many of my clients report beginning to notice positive changes in just a few sessions, most work with me for at least 4-6+ months as we strengthen their coping skills, explore and process the underlying causes, and address new areas for growth that may arise.

This is something you and I will discuss openly as we begin therapy and regularly check in on throughout our work together.
